But even so, you have the 2019 problem: you will need at least $16M to re-sign Auston Matthews (an additional $9M), Mitch Marner (and additional $4M), and Kasperi Kapanen (an additional $3M); even with Gardiner and Hainsey coming off the books, you'll only have $6M in cap room and you're still 2 forwards short on the roster.[/quote
Seems like its time to trade some of the high priced help. Maybe Willy?</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>The Leafs have one of the higher PB in the upcoming year. The potential bonuses of 2018/19 are listed in the bar in this case 3,7m. Teams have the option when they pay the bonus...either in 2018/19 in they have cap space or it has to be paid the following year. And in the Leafs case, LTIR Horton has to included on the opening day roster 5.25m so the PB can be paid this season. Leafs are hoping not to have an PB bonuses with the expectation of big raises to Matthews and Marner in 2019/19.</div></div>
I thought that the bonuses were just calculated as part of their salary since you cant control if the players will get the bonus...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuckPal</b></div><div>If he's available i agree but that may end up costing us a core player. But if they want a hamonic type trade but with some prospects to give up only maybe 1 1st then that would be great but lets be honest the leafs put a bullseye on there chest when they signed Tavares and the cost has gone up a bit.</div></div>
I suppose but would Anaheim really think that way if they are in the Western conference?
