Bourgault was a 1st round pick 2 years ago and has done nothing to lose any value. Why would he be just another prospect that every team has? Not saying carolina should do the trade im just confused

Habs take that. Probably use the pick for a Goalie.

What you said isn't even the reality of this ACGM as Foegele is traded before the Oilers would need the cap to trade for Lindholm. You're pretending as if the Sharks would know what Edmonton's final line up was going to be.

as others above said, not a good enough of a pick to take on Kulak and Foegele. Upgrade it to like a 2rd (EDM is out of 3rds) and I think SJ takes it

This looks about right. Bouchard will get $3M at least but you've overpaid McLeod and have $500k in reserve so I'm sure it can be worked out.
I don't like having Brown on the 1st line, but perhaps he can be the defensive conscience there. And I try not to get overly hung up on line combinations as they change from shift to shift anyhow.

I understand the logic behind a big, long contract if Edmonton didn't have a salary cap issue. We simply do not have the opportunity to give such a contract. More likely to be a bridge contract for two years, until better times with a salary cap.</div></div>
I agree, a 2 or 3 year bridge deal is the most likely. It probably ends up being more than $2.5M though - Noah Dobson got a 3 x $4M deal from Lou, although that was subsequent to a 50 point season.

So what you're saying is... they're a contender right now.
I agree.
Not sure I'd give Bjugstad a 3 year deal, TBH, although it is something Holland might do. Also, with the draft though to be ~55 deep before talent drop off, it may not be a good idea to trade down.

This trade was edited. Kulak was not in it originally. It was a '24 1st and a '25 3rd. Adding Kulak and taking out the 3rd makes it worse, not better, for the Hawks.

Arizona trade is the only one, I read that backwards initially.
Montreal has a plethora of LHD and are not paying for one. Columbus would be a better destination but not sure if you get a second.
4 years of Campbell is likely more expensive to dump than moving up maybe 10 spots into the first round and a third round pick.

Yeah. Maybe if CHI has a retention slot to spare and there aren't better offers. But, at this point, Domi should be worth at least a 2nd all on his own, without retention. For a team that is going to need all of its retention slots, I'm still not sure you could get them to retain for that. But it's possible.

Agree, replace both of LaChance and Tuillio with one of Holloway or Bourgault. Kane should bring what Giroux returned which was a first & Tippett (former top 10 pick that had lost a fair amount of luster since his draft). Domi retained is worth a 2nd and Lafferty probably in the same zip code since he is signed another year for cheap. Puljujärvi does make an intersting change of scenery guy to take a flier on (and the Hawks will need to spend money somewhere next year), buy he has to be qualified at 3 million and is having a pretty bad season and about to turn 25 when the Hawks have shown no interest the past few off seasons in qualifying middling RFA's that were more productive. Puljujärvi at this point is as much salary filler to make cap work as he is any real value.

If it’s EDM, here’s hoping this is the return.
