2 trades and one UFA. It's all I ask
Have you noticed anything Holland and Blashill have done in the last 6 months? Mrazek is very clearly on the outside with the entire organization, upside or not. He was free to pick and even Vegas wouldn't pick him. He's not in our future plans unless he changes big time.

Vegas Golden Knights!
There's no way Detroit lets it's only good defenseman go. Sorry, not happening.

Blockbuster with Pittsburgh

It's because he buried contracts of Vitale and Franzen rather than LTIR.
That said, this is still not the best. Tatar as a top 3 forward? Z as bottom 6?? Mantha over Athanesiou on the 4th line, when AA has more games played and Mantha needs top 6 ice time to grow regardless of competition? That's shotty at most.

Could they move Ericsson?
As much as I dislike JE, there's no reason to buy him out until after this season. Let him get taken in the expansion draft

Wings 2016
I disagree with the Schwartz and Ladd signings, mostly because they're pretty expensive not to both be playing top 6 hockey. Maybe one of them, but not both, and probably not either given that we'd want a Center and spread AA on the wing and let Larkin run the second line. Backes would be a preferred option, but that's more my opinion I suppose. Mantha is in a position that Larkin was last year, if he's going to play he needs top 6 minutes and I'm uncertain the load of wingers lets that happen. Tatar is not first line material given his inconsistency, but he can get hot from time to time. The Fowler trade makes me ecstatic, but I doubt Anaheim would value Nyquist (at such an expensive contract) so highly. Maybe a pick as well and they'd be more inclined, but I'm unsure on that. The Montoya signing is exactly as I would think, but I feel Mrazek will want more than 5M this year. He was a Vezina candidate until his injury and came back to form in the last few games against Tampa in the playoffs.
Overall, I feel this one is very realistic and I'd rate it 4/5. It seems well thought out, although with different priorities that probably need more detail. Good work!

DRW reinvention

At $3.7M I would.
Also re: Larking...he has not played much C and looks like he could be sticking at Wing long-term.
The point of this post was to say the Wings could look to build up the back-end and reinvent their approach.</i></div></div>
I wholeheartedly disagree. He played Center at Michigan, he played it in the playoffs for the Grand Rapids Griffins, and they've been fairly vocal since Datsyuk is retiring that they want him to have a chance at Center on the second line next season.

There's not a chance the Wings would trade Mr. Michigan, Dylan Larkin. Even to rework the team, that's an absolute farce.

Best Case Backes; Trouba
Actually I have the same trade in another one of these, but the picks are swapped. That's my mistake.
Trouba, I agree, but what would you do to make that deal go through for Winnipeg? They get a serviceable defenseman that we don't need and a top 6 forward with a high upside. If the wings are getting Trouba at all, it's gonna be that and maybe picks added.
Howard return is actually good. It's a salary trade off for picks and a bad contract. The only other option is if we took Raymond for them and buried it in the AHL.

Best Case; Stamkos & Hamilton
That's why I said best case. Totally not happening. Knowing Holland, I'd be glad to see him trade for pucks.
