I like it, but why not keep Howard? Looks like you have the cap room. I don't think people appreciate how well he did when he was healthy. I hope Detroit gives him at least another year. If he does well, he can be flipped at the trade deadline either this season or next season for more than just a 5th round pick. Other than that, three stars because the defensive corps looks a lot better than before.

Would love to keep Howard. Just don't think he fits with the correct direction of the team. Mrazek younger. Higher upside. Team is going to youth. If we have Mrazek and Howard we are probably losing coreau on waivers which isn't ideal. Personal opinion is also having Howard on roster is killing Mrazek's confidence. Not that we have done a great job of building it anyways (ie. expansion draft)

Have you noticed anything Holland and Blashill have done in the last 6 months? Mrazek is very clearly on the outside with the entire organization, upside or not. He was free to pick and even Vegas wouldn't pick him. He's not in our future plans unless he changes big time.

Leaving Mrazek exposed was a good idea. Vegas was taking Fleury and they weren't going to spend 4m on a backup. Makes me wonder what Avs were thinking. Protecting Vharlmov and then losing Pickard. They could have had both goalies this year, though they would have lost another player.
