<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeterChiarelli</b></div><div>Barrie, Bouchard, Puljujarvi, and a pair of firsts for Coe, Karlsson ($3M retained), and Lorentz is about as much as I'd pay San Jose for EK65's services.
Puljujarvi deal expires in a matter of months and Barrie has remained as one of the most productive defenders in the league. He will absolutely be an asset the Sharks can flip next year, in fact you've subsequently done so in this AGM for a very large and unrealistic package. Asking for Broberg and extra picks is wholly foolish and ill conceived. Edmonton is the only buyer on Karlsson based on the reports we're hearing. The excuse of intra-divisional trades or star power evaporates when demand for a contract as risky as Erik Karlsson's dissuades all other buyers.
Likewise you're asking far too much for Meier and to take Vrana off of the Red Wings' hands.</div></div>
I agree with the Karlsson part mostly. After submitting this trade, I realized that I forgot to take away the condition on the 2nd round pick in 2024. Although, I think that if the sharks retain the contract, they should get this 3rd or 2nd out of it. I think that getting Karlsson at 9 mil would be a huge snag in the direction of EDM. Because I did not mean the 2nd first round pick, do you think it would be more worth it? You basically said that he would be worth Barrie, Pulj, Bouchard, a 2 1sts. What if I take out a first, and add Broberg? Flipping a 2024 1st (most likely high to mid 20s) for broberg seems like a decent deal. Although, I am not as familiar with him as other prospects so I don’t really know his full value.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Waffelz</b></div><div>Sharks fan here, I don't think a single one of these trades is accepted, except maybe the Bonino one. You've overvalued every Sharks player by a significant amount.</div></div>
I would disagree, I think the only overvalued trade here would be the karlsson one, and maybe reimer. The Meier trade is working with their extremely long list of “untouchables” and they draft pick will likely be in the late 20s. This is also taking on Andreas Johnson’s horrible contract, which should get us a 2nd and 3rd based on the previous trades for nemeth and zaitsev.
That being said, I do not think the devils will do this, but I do believe this is worth his value. Also, Tyson Barrie is a 41 point in 50 games defenseman. PIT would be ridding themselves if a 5.1 mil contract for an older player with 12 point in the season. They are upgrading 35+ defenseman points. I think that Barrie is worth a 1st on his own, let alone taking on the contract of Duomolin.

That is fair, I would assume that they wouldn’t. But I believe that Barabanov would be a great fit, plus, DET would be ridding themselves of Vranas Contract for this year and the next at 5,250,000, while barb is younger and at 2,500,000. With the way the wings have been playing lately, it looks as if they could push for a playoff spot. When looking at the trades for Nemeth or Zaitsev, SJS should almost be getting more to take this contract in my opinion.

I totally agree, I think that based on what I’ve seen, there could potentially be a bidding war for Meier and I think(as a biased sharks fan) that NJD would be a perfect fit for Meier, and that out 80+ point 40 goal scorer would get a really solid return in the offer above. I do not beeline that this would ever happen, as it says in the description, this is what I Hope the sharks would do. That being said, if there was a bidding war, I think that this offer could be somewhere across the lines of what the sharks could receive.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RV23</b></div><div>Oh yeah sure we’ll give you the brother of our franchise player no problem!! Nemec yeah sure we’ll do that too because #2 OA picks get moved within 12 months of their draft ALLLL the time!
Listen when push comes to shove and teams make their “best offer”, nobody’s going to outbid the devils offer of 1st/Holtz/Casey or Mukh. We won’t outbid ourselves. And if that’s not enough for you to wanna make the trade, you can keep him and see how that works out for you this off-season, or trade him for a lesser package. I really don’t know what to tell you all anymore. Carolina is keeping their two best trade chips off the table. Buffalo and Vegas don’t seem much involved in this. Can’t be a bidding war if teams aren’t involved. I understand Timo is a top player I’m not negating his value. But we act like there’s six teams on this really driving up the value, and there’s just not.</div></div>
Do I think this will happen? Absolutely not, would I love to see it as a sharks fan? Of course I would. Sharks are also not getting a first back from this which is their main asking piece. I think a scenario in which there is a bidding war on Meier would be great though. I believe from what I’ve seen that carolina, vgk, jets, etc, hell, even the blues now apparently, will offer something somewhat substantial and it would be a dumb mistake of NJD to give up on a player like this, even if it means moving a top prospect.

Holtz not being NHL ready at 21 says very little about his potential. The Devils can very easily win Timo with neither of those players, so asking for both is ridiculous</div></div>
The sharks also don’t have to trade Meier, so unless they get a serious offer, they don’t have to trade. I just think that that would be a mistake for both teams. I believe holtz will be a good player, but sharks are also not even getting a first out of this, which is their main asking piece of this trade, which means they need to get a better prospect. Do I believe this will happen? Absolutely not. But it is also fun to play around with trades

You also have to look at the trade market for buyouts right now, NYR traded nemeth 3x2.5, to the Yotes for 2 2nds. I believe that Boston is getting a better player, younger player, and a cheaper player while also unloading some of this contract. They are also giving up less than 2 2nds, especially because their picks will most likely be at the very back end of those picks.

Holtz is currently a 4 point player who is having trouble cracking the 4th line, he still has potential but not getting a better prospect would be a huge risk for SJS. NJD has a bright future but if they don’t offer big, someone else will get Meier, who is a perfect fit for them. Even if NJD gives up Hughes or Nemec, they will still have a future #1 dman.

Boston would be getting a better defenseman who is more productive point wise, and has a similar +/- despite being on a significantly worse team. They are also saving 1,750,000 which means they can sign a new player this off-season or trade for another solid player. The picks would basically be 3rd/4th round picks based on the way Boston is doing.

Meier to NJD
Yeah, I understand that, I wish the sharks could get a first from this. But I almost don't see it happening if we are getting Nemec. From what I hear, he has a pretty high value to NJD.
