Buffalo is a wagon
I don’t see the Sabres going after Hellebuyck anymore, if they ever were. I’d be hesitant to make that Konecny deal, but that’s the only trade I would consider of the three. Girgensons is a cheaper, at this point still more effective fourth line player than Foligno. If Buffalo wanted him back they would have asked for him instead of Greenway.

the hellebuyck trade is probably close to what a real one would look like, maybe swap lyubushkin for something of more value since the jets already have several D

There is a 0% chance the Flyers trade TK without getting a 1st back. If you upgrade that 2nd pick to the 2024 1st then it probably gets accepted.

Yeah exactly, it's a gamble on skill and upside. You get it.
I actually wouldn't love this move from MNs side, but our beat reporter keeps hinting at this type of trade, so I wanted to mock something up and kick some tires.

Obviously Chicago isn’t trading the pick, but Kuzmenko, Podkolzin, Raty, and Lekkerimaki are far from trash

Buyout Drouin and use cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ricochetii</b></div><div>Didn't say bad contract, but even a $1M difference raises expectations. That's the difference between top 6 and middle 6 money. It's like Byron. $3.4M was reasonable for what he was doing, but he's fallen below expectations, so now he's a "bad contract". For even $500k less, he'd still be viewed as a decent bottom 6 forward and PK specialist.
As I said, I agree Drouin has not been treated fairly. This is why we can't have nice things. We poke and prod until they crumble. He has flaws, but he is serviceable as a player and is working on becoming better. He just isn't the French superhero people want him to be.</div></div>
I was agreeing with you on the contract. The $1 million isn’t a big deal, and habs fans overreact because of it.

Buyout Drouin and use cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kotkaniemi15</b></div><div>You’re literally talking about $1 million. No one in the league is perceived as a really bad contract because they’re overpaid by $1 milllion, other than maybe Jack Johnson. Also there’s the flat cap, which makes all contracts signed before it look worse.
All the hate for Drouin in this fanbase is just brutal. And everyone just loves to jump on him when he can do nothing to help what’s happening, ie. his personal leave of absence or his injury and struggling play post-returning from injury in 19-20.</div></div>

No. He will again be a liability, not physical and sheltered. He’s gonna be exposé with MTL médias. I think it’s better to turn the page</div></div>
If Drouin were on any other team, he'd be signed for $4.5M and considered a useful middle 6 winger who mans the PP, putting up 40-50 points a season.
It's okay if that is what he is.
The problem is that he was mantled with high expectations and given a lucrative contract before he even had a chance to prove himself.

What will be the lines
Suzuki and Caufield need a big body to create openings and opportunities. That's Anderson.
Kk, Drouin, and Hoffman all need sheltering. Put them together for the lion's share of offensive starts.
Put Evans with Gallagher and Toffoli for an all-purpose line, and give KK some shifts with them for more of an offensive tilt, since he doesn't kill penalties.
That leaves Lehkonen, Paquette(/Poehling), and Armia for a 4th line.
If Montreal does pick up another top 9 center, Evans (and KK if it's a better fit), can be bumped down a line.
