I think he meant instead, or at least I hope.

They can ask, but they aren't getting it, or anything close from any team.

Also - agree. I don't think the market/value for Panarin will be high at all. Teams know they (CBJ) are in a bind. He will more than likely walk and he test FA. So, there is no benefit in trading for him unless you think he is the piece that gets you a Cup.

This would not be the worst trade in the world for the bruins. It's going to be hard to sign all the young talent over the next offseason or two, so moving some of it makes sense. And if they bring in Panarin now and have success, it may help them resign him.
