Description

Risky trade for Boston. Ottawa should take this all day.

Sens get now: Grzelcyk, JFK and a 2019 1st round pick
Sens get in the offseason: Backes at 5M (+leadership), 2020 1st round pick, 2021 2nd round pick.

Bruins get now: Mark Stone, 2020 6th round pick.
Bruins get in the offseason: Stone re-signs, 2020 2nd round pick back and finally Backes' contract off the books.

I have to admit it's very risky for the Bruins.
1. McAvoy has to sign a bridge deal.
2. Boston has to win the cup to re-sign Stone because otherwise Backes won't waive.
3. Chara at 2M is a bit low too.
4. Boston loses two 1st round picks, a 2nd round pick, Grzelcyk and JFK.

I think i have said this in 2 dozen posts now but.....Backes will never waive for Ottawa. If they win the Cup he retires, he might even if they don’t.

You are light on all the RFAs

They simp,y can;t afford Stone beyond a rentalthis year unless they move more salary than just Backes
