Description
Orlov, Niskanen, and Orpik have been awful but you cant sit all of them. Jaskin is physical and had good results in the regular season. Siegenthaler is the caps 3rd best healthy dman and needs to play.

I think Orpik, Niskanen, Orlov, and Carlson have been fine this series. Djoos has been awful. I don't think you can justify moving him up a pair, especially being on the ice for three goals against in 22 minutes total ice time in three games.

I think it's pretty risky to put Jaskin in the lineup after not playing at all the past couple of months. I'd probably call up DSP and play him before I played Jaskin in a game. At least DSP has a playoff pedigree and has played significant minutes in the AHL. I'd realistically probably slot Boyd in at 4RW and keep Dowd as 4C.

DSP is horrendously bad so I don't think he should be called up. Orlov and Niskanen have been getting steamrolled and need to be separated, theres not many options on the back end.

I agree, I'm just saying that Jaskin isn't exactly an upgrade over DSP at this point. He's rustier than an old beach chair.

I think you can separate the pairings up into:

Orlov - Carlson (OZSs only, please)
Siegs - Niskanen
Orpik - Jensen

That's if you want to keep the unholy from happening and having a pairing of Niskanen and Orpik.

Orlov is a beast and should never ever be sat for any reason. Niskanen just can't eat big minutes anymore. Orpik is just too damn slow for the Canes. Best pair combos would be:

Sieg-Carlson
Orlov-Jensen
Djoos-Niskanen

Jaskin looked horrendous in game 82 versus the isles. He has no business playing playoff hockey for this team. Dowd has looked just fine. Keep him in the lineup.

As for defense, niskanen and orlov have been fine, and Orpik has been pretty great. I agree with swapping in Siegenthaler, but at the expense of Djoos, not orlov.

The top 6 needs to go back to 8-92-43 / 13-19-77 again.
