Description

With Neal sitting out game 5, I think the writing is on the wall. The guy they got to play in the big games didn't play in their biggest game of the season. Ottawa is going to be right up against the cap and could use the veteran presence.

Michael Stone is shipped out, it could be to any team really, but I have him going to Vegas to play with his brother.

Big trade shipping out Brodie and Jankowski for Kapanen. Brodie had a pretty good year but could use a change of scenery. Toronto needs dmen that are tough to forecheck and Brodie is so elusive, he'd be a perfect fit.

Flames sign Tkachuk's cousin and Gaudreau's college linemate, Hayes, which totally reworks their top 9. Now their second line doesn't have to be a shutdown line.

The hard part is that you picked the (2) teams (TOR and VGK) in the MOST cap trouble today...and dumped more cap on them.

-This pushes Toronto even farther past the cap. It's probably a reasonable move, but they've got a lot of work to do before they can take on more salary in any trade.
-Vegas is also going to be in cap trouble. Taking on $3.5 for a guy that probably ends up as the 7th/8th dman in a deep Vegas D-core isn't a good move. Also, who gave this guy a friggin' 15 team NTC?! You're definitely handcuffed by that list.
-Getting rid of James Neal is going to cost you a lot more than a 3rd rounder. Somebody upstairs in Calgary made a huge mistake, and you guys ended up overpaying big time for a guy who had 44 pts the season before. Not really sure what they expected out of him.
