I don’t see Dallas getting rid of Hintz

Stephen Johns has been out over a year now with an injury, didn't play a single game in 18-19. that's a no thanks for me.

also, Kapanen and Hintz are the same age, yet Kapanen had a better year. i wouldn't say they're equal because kapanen is better.

wrong way around buddy. Hintz has been the better player he only played just under 60 games for Dallas and it was in the middle of the season. Kapanen had 78 games with 44 points, so they are more about around the same. You can say Kapanen is better all you want, Hintz showed up second half of the season more than Kapanen did, and also Hintz was great in Playoffs all the way through Nashville and St.Louis Series. Hintz was by far their best forward in the St.Louis series so it's kind of hard to base your statement on points. Kapanen might be playing good, but Hintz is the 2C for Dallas, and has been playing like a madman.

yeah i really like hintz. The extra year on his ELC right now would help the leafs a ton, and paying kap wouldnt be an issue for DAL. I think Kap / Hintz is really close, but Hintz gets a slight edge for being a C and little more of a complete player. The slight gap between those two is made up with the Johns/1st for Kadri and the 3rd.

Overall i think it's still a trade that would help both teams out. Dal could roll with Benn / Seguin / Radulov / Zucc / Kadri / Kap in their top 6 assuming they resign Zucc. Moving Johns doesnt hurt their D that much as they have a really solid young group of lindell / heisk / klingberg and hopefully honka can finally take the next step. Leafs get the cap room they desperately need, kadri / hintz is a wash at C for now, leafs lose a winger that gets replaced by bracco, and get some depth on the right side.
