If rist is on Tampa maybe he won’t be -40, maybe a conditional third if he is over +10

+/- is a meaningless stat. Even the worst defensive player will be in the plus on the best team in the league. A great defensive player can be in the negative on a terrible team.

Not enough for Zucker IMO. Take away the 3rd and add a little bit from Buffalo and we might bite.

That is pretty much as close to the “Frolik and a pick” value that was reported at the deadline.
Sheary is younger and cheaper than Frolik, hence the 3rd go back the other way. Maybe make it conditional or whatever.

It's not, though, if we're sending a 3rd to Buffalo. Our beat writer has said the pick was a 1st, so we would have gotten 26 OA and Frolik (worth about a 3rd or 4th in a deadline deal). SJS pick will be either 29, 30, or 31 OA, so that's less value from the pick. Sheary and Frolik are pretty identical in terms of value, but maybe Sheary is a little bit more valuable due to his contract like you mentioned. Sure, Sheary is younger but it doesn't really matter since both are UFA's next year. So if we're going off the 1st and Frolik, then SJS 1st and Sheary is pretty much the same. Personally, I'd still prefer the Calgary pick and Frolik to Sheary and the SJS pick since we have a sh*t ton of cap space and the pick is better. That's why I said Buffalo would have to add a touch.
