If Spurgeon doesn't sign extension, then I don't see the point in this deal, Borgen is a pretty decent prospect RHD.

Should have mentioned they will sign him. I don’t think Ristolainen would be traded unless they didn’t think they could get Spurgeon signed or receive a defenseman back in the Ristolainen deal.

Given that the same Skinner hasn't signed a contract yet, so I would prefer with extension deal, if Spurgeon signs an extension then I have no problem with that deal, not even necessarily withholding salary.

I sure hope Buffalo can re-sign Skinner. The city and its fans deserve a winner. But we all know there will be significant changes this offseason in Buffalo.
