Vancouver declines because Trouba won't sign an extension. You're going to have to deal with East American teams.

Every team has about 3 UFA at the end of the season. So what makes Trouba so unique that the Jets HAVE to trade him. Jets are in a Cup run, they need Trouba, cause they will never get immediate value in a trade for a one year rental.

Palhal continues to misunderstand the situation.

That being said... I don't see Trouba going to Vancouver. There will be plenty of Trouba interest, and the Jets should be able to do better than this anyway.

Yeah obviously not to a team that has a zero percent chance of signing him long term.

The Jets are not in a cup run, they've lost the last two seasons so is keeping Trouba and going for it with the same roster a wise decision? Definitely not, they've wasted a lot of assets in the last two seasons on rentals and to gain cap space, they need to trade Trouba and try to regain some assets. This team is too young and inexperienced to be real contenders yet plus they're likely not contenders till there's a coaching change but that's not happening in the foreseeable future.
They need to take this summer to retool the roster for long term competitiveness, cut out whatever cancer it is that they have in the dressing room and that should start with a Trouba trade(not saying Trouba is the cancer), keeping Trouba as their "own rental" would be delusional thinking on Chevy's part.
