Alzner’s cap hit will be more than 4M$ next year so I don’t see the Habs buying him out this year (maybe next year though).

Also, I don’t think Klefbom for Drouin makes sense. Kulak has similar stats and is an advanced stats darling. As for the value, the Oilers would need to give up more than this to acquire Drouin.

Its also not my favourite but they can still buy him out next year and get two picks for taking his contract. It’s not SO bad but same for me, I would not do this trade if I’m Marc Bergevin

if thats teh case, then the habs should at least get a 2nd rd pick. we're doing a favour to an atlantic team

If you are looking for a 1 for 1 for a LD think Ghost would make much more sense for Drouin then Klefbom.
