Description
Assuming the Isles and Lee/Lehner can't come to terms on new contracts, how do the the Isles replace them and still look to contend next year?

1) sign one of the elite UFA forwards (Duchene, Panarin). Panarin seems more likely as he has expressed some interest in playing in New York.

2) Trade for a Goalie, because the UFAs are an unimpressive lot. Here I went with Campbell from the Kings to pair with Greiss, since he's cheap, and LA would still have another young goalie that performed well last year to pair with Quick.

Trades
1.
NYI
  1. Kerfoot, Alexander [RFA Rights]
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Avs use some of their forward depth to pick up a puck moving defensemen. Isles get a 3C and a future pick.
2.
NYI
  1. Campbell, Jack
  2. Toffoli, Tyler
Additional Details:
Isles give up some future assets gambling that Campbell is for real, and Toffoli can bounce back from an off year. They don't have to give up too much because both are UFAs after this season. Kings sell high on Campbell and go with a G tandem of Quick/Peterson and clear some cap space by moving Toffoli.
LAK
  1. Quenneville, David
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (NYI)
  3. 2021 3rd round pick (NYI)

[IF Lee and Lehner Walk] . . Don't say that.

As to your post, really well done on all points. The Team Explanation is well-reasoned and right on, and I like the trade with my local team. Also like the effort to avoid the Leddy-to-Montreal cliche.

LA will not accept the deal.
I'd rather Tatar from Montreal over Kerfoot. Keep your 2021 2nd round pick... LOL
