Description
There are rumors floating around that, after losing out on Panarin, Lou is working to clear some CAP space and "stockpile some picks" to make a big move. There has been some speculation his "big move" will be to present an OS to one of the big RFAs left unsigned with Point or Marner being speculated as the top 2 options.

I went with Marner in this one since Lou knows Marner, Marners connection to several NYI players and of course the JT thing.

When all is said and done, Isles recoup a 1st in 2021, have 3 seconds (can use 2 to trade up into the 1st) in 2020 and 2022 to offset picks lost in the Marner OS.

There should be enough next year to sign Barzal, Pulock and Toews to extenstions. Only issue being is if Ladd and/or Clutterbuck come back healthy at any point, but if we can LTIR them going forward, we should be good.

Pretty sure the Habs would be in on Leddy, but not sure they would put their 1st in play. Perhaps two 2nd and some more stuffs.

But anyway, no one wants to trade with us anymore... # offersheet frown

Now I don't think the Leafs would match. But those trades are IMO optimistic for the Isles. Moving out for NHL regulars just to squeeze in Marner....doesn't really make the Isles better. And the cap might be over next season if Barzel and Pulock have good years.
