i think it's Paciorety who's gonna be traded insted of Smith, more cap relief and you won't have to do other trade to fit Carlson in and be under the cap the first day before putting him on LTIR.

Pay someone to take Eakin, it shouldn't be hard. May be expensive, or move Reaves, either way. Also, you do not HAVE to carry a 23 man roster, you can carry only 20 guys, it's not advisable, but you can. You have the cap space to send Zykov to the minors with maybe Glass and Carrier. Then you have the cap and the roster space, and wouldn't have a need to move smith. It's not 100% trade a top 6 player to fix it yet, that WK Marchessault Smith line works really well, why break it up?
