Description
Less than what those players are actually worth but they sell low due to having no other options. I think namestnikov is a very good fit with EDM as he had shown that when he is playing with superstar talent, he puts up really solid numbers. If not he fills out pretty much anywhere that they need him to play. He is a swiss army knife type of player and pool party is on the way out of town regardless. Strome is a casualty of the cap. He played very well with the NYR last season and is worth somewhere around a second round pick to the correct team but they sell low on him to get under the cap. No buyouts unless there are no other options. Everyone keeps suggesting that shatty should be bought out, which is ridiculous. He is a top 4 dman on most teams that's suffered from terrible luck. The first one I would buy out would be staal but, again, I do not see any buyouts happening unless there are no other options.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Holland stated that he'll trade Puljujärvi only to either as good or better prospect or an established player with several years left on his contract.

Namestnikov fits in neither of those categories.

Nobody is going to be willing to part with anything crazy for him as he looks like a bust already. They are however going to be getting back a top 9 winger on a pretty cheap deal, with the salary retained, and they can extend him if he is a fit. Almost no risk for EDM as pool party leaves to go to Europe if not traded.

Buch contract is short 1-2M. Doubt Trouba signs that low either, but possible. Puji and Namestnikov deal is horrible for EDM, no way that one goes down.

Buch contract is exactly what evolving wild is guessing on a 2 year deal and trouba is also on par with evolving wild for a 7 yr deal. Just because a guy says "i want 8M a year" does not mean he gets that amount. As far as the EDM trade goes they are trading a bust of a player and getting someone proven back. Pool party has put up 39 pts in 3 seasons total... playing with a talented group of forwards...I personally would like to see what a change of scenery does but all signs point to him being a bust.

If he looks like a bust and the Namestnikov deal is so good then why do the trade in the first place?
