With Danault/Domi/KK down the middle, I really think starting Poehling on LW could be good for him. Poehling is a true center but it will be hard to give him top 9 minutes at center. Remember that Poehling has played 35-45 games by season the last 2 years. It would be insane to ask him 82 games at center (with all the responsabilities that come with the center spot). Maybe in December, Julien feel Poehling is ready and then we put Domi LW. Danault/KK/Poehling. Remember Chuky was never a true center when he starts his NHL career he had like one year and a half in the OHL at center while Poehling has already played 3 season in the NCAA (better than OHL) and some big tournament (U20). We wont screw Poehling if we start him at LW IMO.
