Description
Trying to keep balance of LW's and RW's while having players in their "primary" position (with the exception of Draisaitl who will play LW with McDavid).

Top Line: keep Neal with Drai & McD on top 3, he'll likely but up more points here than anyone else on the roster this year; so keep him there.

Fourth Line: I think this would be a pretty solid fourth line in the NHL, capable of playing an "energy game" w/ speed and would likely put up some good numbers.

Middle six - All players, with the exception of RNH would be fluid. This gives Tippet options to move players around based on chemistry and what is working best. No matter how you slice it though, unless Benson & PoolParty really excel, and Haas & Nygard best pay off, this is a pretty scary middle-six which will likely struggle to put up points and keep pucks out of their own net....

Ultimately, unless Benson, PoolParty, Haas, Nygard & Koskinen really step up, I don't think this team is competing for the playoffs in 2019/20. That's a lot of bets that need to pay off in order to make this team competative.

If the expectation is for Puljujarvi to excel and make a case to stay in the NHL full-time, he needs to be on either McDavid's or RNH's wing for the entirety of the season. No two ways about that. He won't have anything remotely close to success if he's used on a no-NHL-experience line.

I thought Puljujarvi doesn't want to play in Edmonton anymore?

Fair point. I was more just trying to show a middle-six that would be fluid where you could move players in and out, up and down based on what chemistry develops. But I definitely don't disagree with you!

He doesn't have a choice. Oilers were "underwhelmed" with any trade offers for him, European development camps are pretty much done with rosters being almost set, and PoolParty won't get anywhere near the money he would get elsewhere in the world as he would with the Oilers (even on a qualifying offer). He's going to have to come back to Edmonton with a better attitude and really try to make this work with the same commitment coming from the new GM/Coach.

Or just hold out if he's really desperate
