8 years? He'll be 40 when that deal expires. Either the cap hit is lower than that or more likely he signs a 5 or 6 year deal.

I found the cap hit low enough for 8 years, BACKY= FoREVER A CAP <3333333333333333333333333333333333

I love Backy but no way in hell would I sign a 33 year old to a 8 year deal at $8.5M. We'll probably get him on a 4 year $8.5M deal.

Ceci is one of the worst defensemen in the league. We have so many younger, better, cheaper players.
