Description
Scott Darling signed to a PTO.
Once Ian Cole returns I expect one of the many Left handed Defenseman to be traded away or just buried/waived.
Connor Timmins might be ready at training camp but I feel like there are far too many rookies on that defense, and especially having to play multiple of them together.

Timmins is certainly not ready. After all he has been through and not playing hockey for so long the worst thing you could do is throw him in the lineup.

I will be direct. No, it's not since reason #1: We're simply not trading Carlo.

Meloche will be what, top6 at best?
We don't need Calvert at all, we have enough options for our bottom 6
lol at the 3rd; worse is that COL makes playoffs
(this is the price for like 1/3 if not 1/4 of Carlo)

We don't move Carlo unless the return would be... an overpayment to get him.
Also, Carlo is a top4 D and is perfect for our second pair; replace McAvoy if injured on the first.
Leading to: $2,75M is way too low, even on a bridge deal. On a 6Y deal, he can get $4,25M so there's that.

Don't acquire him if it's to play on the 3rd pair, he's a legit 1st pair D. Monster defensively in the playoffs (and the regular season).

Remember Carlo for Landeskog few years ago? I would still not do that trade but that's personal opinion.

So forget this, just play Connauton there until Cole is back.

I don’t think that would get Carlo from the bruins. I love meloche but he doesn’t have the ceiling as Carlo so a 4th liner like Calvert doesn’t make up the difference then

I think Timmins would have to be moved for this to happen and that’s if he shows he’s back to old self being healthy again.

If Timmins healthy there’s no point for the avs to do the move then

I agree they shouldn’t rush him at all but the org hype for Timmins is stilll a real thing, if he plays well during pre season it wouldn’t shock me if he’s on the team based on how much bednar loves him and how high Sakic is on him

Meloche projects to be at least top 4 and considering Carlo would likely sign a 3-4 year deal that pick would become a 2nd which Don Sweeney has proven to be able to do damage with (specifically Brandon Carlo Sticking Out Tongue )
But I didn't realize Carlo was apparently that good, cuz I saw him playing 3rd pairing minutes for Boston. Realistically he could probably play 2nd pairing but I doubt Bednar plays Johnson 3rd pairing and definitely not Makar
Also neither Connauton nor Cole play the right side lol
