Description
Killorn grew up in Montreal and his family lives here, so he might consider waiving his NTC for personal reasons, especially if he gets the sense that his role might diminish with the Lightning. Lightning have 2 firsts next season to replenish their cupboards with talent so a 2nd is the price of the Habs taking his contract back, allowing them to easily sign Point with a bit of cap space to spare. Montreal doesn't need wingers per se but they could use another bigger body up front, or opens up a possibility for another trade. Killorn would certainly be exposed during the expansion draft and might not play out his whole 4 years on his contract in Montreal, maybe traded or bought out of remaining years later on, but having surplus wingers and 3 2nd round picks gives the Habs a ton of options for deals at the TDL or 2020 draft.

Lol, Peca is worth a 5th tops. Keep dreaming.

Bolts have plenty of ways to create space. Killorn is one of them but they would get at least a 2nd and a decent prospect in return for him.

Habs could throw a 4th in no problem, or the rights to any number of half decent prospects too. Peca is an AHLer who should only ever play as an injury fill-in, being dealt exclusively to manage contract numbers.

That’s the point. Quality NHL player and 2nd for AHLer. You don’t see the problem?

Yes Bolts need to dump some cap space. But if they are moving a quality asset they get a quality return. This idea that any team with cap issues has to make bad trades to fix it is idiotic. It’s one thing if they are moving waste of cap space. Killorn is not. You want to give them Olafsson or Ilkonen and a 3rd or 4th for Killorn straight, maybe they consider it.

You got Armia for an AHLer to take Mason’s contract.

Killorn is not Mason. He has value. You are not getting something for nothing.

Exactly, and that's why this trade makes no sense. Killorn is a useful player that many teams could like on their roster. No way in absolute hell Tampa has to give a 2nd rounder in order to get rid of him. They didn't pay that for Callahan, do you think they'll pay that for a useful 3rd liner that has great defensive stats and is known for being a beast in the playoffs?
Also, Peca came from Tampa to MTL
