Interesting exercise. One question : You put Petry on 1st PP wave and Weber on 2nd ? why ?
Shae Weber 2018-19 PP Stats:
- Total PP TOI: ~148 minutes
- Total PP Production: 5 G, 1 A, 6 PTS
- PP PTS/60: ~2.43
Jeff Petry 2018-19 PP Stats:
- Total PP TOI: ~208 minutes
- Total PP Production: 3 G, 8 A, 11 PTS
- PP PTS/60: ~3.17
Jeff Petry was a more productive player on the powerplay for MTL last season. The reason for this is simple; Petry's playmaking and skating ability makes the powerplay more dynamic than Weber's shot (see assists). Petry still has a respectable shot himself.
Edit: 2017-18 stats for reference
Shae Weber 2017-18 PP Stats:
- Total PP TOI: ~94 minutes
- Total PP Production: 2 G, 3 A, 5 PTS
- PP PTS/60: ~3.19
Jeff Petry 2017-18 PP Stats:
- Total PP TOI: ~236 minutes
- Total PP Production: 6 G, 17 A, 23 PTS
- PP PTS/60: ~5.84
Even Weber's best season in MTL he had:
Shae Weber 2016-17 PP Stats:
- Total PP TOI: ~254 minutes
- Total PP Production: 12 G, 10 A, 22 PTS
- PP PTS/60: ~5.19
It just seems like Petry is a more productive powerplay guy even though Weber is a better scorer.
