Apparently a report came out where Laine voiced how he believes if he was on another NHL team his linemates would be the best players available. He's unhappy with how on Winnipeg he's stagnating on a second line with a rotating roster. He wants to play with a high skilled centre.

If you do a three year bridge, u can get him for cheaper...just make sure year three is at 8M for his qualifying offer.

My only problem with the proposed deal is the 1st not being lottery protected. If it is, I'm happy with this deal. I think Drouin is as much a head case as Laine is and Perreault on the short term can mitigate the loss of Lehkonen.

People are judging Laine by one bad year in which he still put up decent numbers. He's only 21 years old. He hasn't even been given the opportunity to mature and learn from his mistakes/arrogance yet. he just needs the time and the team to give it to him will benefit greatly from it.
