I feel like you don't understand how much it will cost you to move up from 3/4 to 1. Probably Caufield + Romanov + Poehling + the pick at least

I think there is logic there, but if you are gonna move up, I think I am targeting Byfield. Never have enough centre depth. Never. And it may cost a little less.

Do you not understand the mentality is he is French Canadian and every team is willing to trade the 1st overall pick for peanuts to get Alexis to Montreal.
