As a canucks fan I will say yes, obviously.

However, taking the bias away, this trade is heavily imbalanced and despite the drastic over-evaluation by many detroit fans of his worth, this is too far on the other end of the spectrum.

Vancouver adds either a B prospect or a 2nd rnd pick

I know I've said this to you before It's not all about overvaluing AA. DETROIT DOESN'T HAVE TO TRADE HIM! He isn't a UFA for 2 more seasons. So why trade him at his lowest point it just doesn't make sense. You know damn well you would do the same thing if you were in this situation. Plus in an interview on Friday Yzerman said "It doesn't make sense to trade any assets at this point and I'm going to continue the rebuild through the draft and free agency. You can watch the interview on Fox Sports Detroit's site.

I do think Detroit does declines quite easily though.

Yzerman set the value at a 2nd and B prospect, so I overvalued nothing, just like I told everyone else, you can take what yzerman set ie the trade that I said, or move on and not acquire him. He's a RFA and we don't have to deal him. So take your gross overpayment and turn it sideways and shove it way up there
