Description
Backes must be cleared to open up cap space for next year. I think the Sens are open for business. If the bruins want another cup, or more...moves need to be made.

see this is the type of deal that makes sense. a 3rd to take on backes a first for jgp. now, i think the first might be a little much but i love jgp as a player so i would probably do this deal if you could stagger the 3rd to 2021.

Ya i like this, but i think the sens might need a smidge more convincing. However I could see this happening if they’re dead set on a first, and no one else is offering a first.

Like i've stated numerous times on these thread, Name me one reason why David Backes would waive his NMC from a potential cup team to a non-playoff team? He's not waiving for Ottawa end of story.

Is playing in ottawa better than playing in providence? is there a backdoor discussion where ottawa buys him out and he can try and sign with a contender looking for a cheap 4th line option that brings great leadership? Who says he needs to stay in Ottawa?

Because his career is over. Will likely never set foot on the ice for Boston again. Maybe he feels like he owes it to the guys on the team not to hold them back.

I think is Minny for Eric Staal is likely a better option. He’s from there, lives there. I’d imagine they are on his 8 team list.
