Is there a rule that if you sign someone, they can't go directly on IR?? basically an injured player can not be signed...

Might be a bit of a factor, but still end of the day I think it’s down to work ethic and his lack of love of offseason working out and add in a wonky ankle or painful high ankle sprain and love of the game gone. Imo but yes probably a toxic room might have been a factor too.
