what I'd pay:
7th (I wouldn't be surprised if he cleared waivers, also probably isn't an upgrade skill wise over anyone in your top 6)
2nd+low end spec (even though the leafs seemingly don't have any of those according to SOME leafs fans)
3rd+Ceci/3rd w/ 50% retention/4th
idk

I think you are thinking too one-dimensional with these targets, not to say the Leafs wouldn't have any interest in Brendan Dillon for example, if the price was right. The targets the Leafs should be, and are hopefully, targetting a forwards that can defend and kill penalties and defenders that are reliable and solid on the back end. Big areas that need improvement are goals against and PK, so that's what these moves should target. Adding players with some term/control is also something I think the Leafs would prefer. Here are some suggestions:

Anaheim: Josh Manson, Carter Rowney, Derek Grant
Colorado: Ryan Graves, Matt Nieto, Matt Calvert
Minnesota: Marcus Foligno
Nashville: Colton Sissons, Calle Jarnkrok
New Jersey: Blake Coleman, Damon Severson
Philadelphia: Scott Laughton
Vegas: Cody Eakin

I am not saying all these players will be available. I am just offering alternative and perhaps better suggestions to what the Leafs actually need.

Leafs have plenty of low end prospects. Robertson and Korshkov are two keepers. SDA and Bracco and Hollowell are B levels. Anyone else signed to a contract and not on the roster is low end or expendable. Have a few decent players on the reserve list but about another 10 expendable atleast there.

Who ever said we don’t have low end guys to dump off? Sounds silly.

I was focusing on defense. But a Marcus Foligno would be a great pick up. A lot of your suggestions are great.

I disagree on Hollowell, but whatever, but there are guys who will argue that guys like Riley Stotts, James Greenway, or Filip Kral are dealbreakers/ have good value, obv they are outnumbered by sane fans (like you I'd assume based off your post) but they do exist... why i emphasized SOME
