Then I'd rather play Ruhwedel, him and Riikola was a surprisingly constant pair that could actually eat minutes (didn't do much offensively, but allowed almost nothing against) or sign any UFA d man

Goligoski was pretty darn good this year though. It's not like he doesn't cost much because he is no longer good. It's mostly that ARI is desperate for cap relief so has to short sell him. Ruhwedel is more an ideal 7th guy and weakens any team using him every game.

Not going to argue about how good he was (he was terrible) we don't need an OFD, we have Dumo who's got defenseively, Marino and MP are two way guys, but likely end up getting paired together on the second pair, that leaves Goli on the third pair with Riikola who isn't fantastic defensively (Ruhwedel is the better of the two defensively... Which is what we need here) would not be able to cover for Goli's lapses that happen like 5 times/game... He's absolute garbage in his own end (I said I wouldn't argue value, but a second is an overpay by itself) and that's backed up by stats AND my eye test... I actually watch ARZ... And Ruhwedel would weaken this team less than Goli would in the scenarios they'll be given... We can't just give Goli all OZ starts, we have two better RH OFD's (who are also both way better defenseively) and he can't handle playing in his own end that much, while Ruhwedel can
