Description
EDIT: Modified NJ trade to be ARI 1st instead of NJ 1st.

----------------------------------------

WPG: WPG get an RFA 3C who can play up in case of emergency. Hes a very reliable player. Puts up 40 even strength points per year, plays PK and can fill in on PP2 if need be. They get the 33 OA, and cap dump in Perrault who waives in order to play meaningful minutes for what might be his last "big" contract

EDM: EDM gets Connor Brown, reliable two way player. Can play either wing and has existing chemistry with McDavid. EDM also gets cap dump in Russel. Fair gain without taking anything major away from their forward core, prospect pool or picks

VAN: Major cap dump in Loui. Lots of other ACGM's have the canucks giving away Sutter for a 4th-6th, so I figured throwing 2 young NHL ready bottom 6 and a 4th would be good

NJ: NJ gets a huge cap dump in PK and Schneider. Moves from 10 to 15. Russel does the same thing as Subban for a few million less per year. Nilson is a good backup to have behind Blackwood. Jaros is good and young, just no space in Ottawa

Devils have no reason to make this trade to sacrifice a top draft pick. We don't need cap relief whatsoever.

Taking 15M of **** cap off your roster would allow you to begin competing much earlier.

With 2 #1OA picks, and 3 1st round picks in this round, NJ make large UFA signings and immediately become competitive.

I would expect the entirety of the Devils management fired if this happened. Subban and Schneider contracts are awful but the team isn't even remotely close to going over the cap. So as a rebuilding team, they're giving up a top draft pick in a great class for no reason? come on.

This isn’t sacrificing a top pick. If you made it the Arizona 1st, I’d do it. It would be moving back 6 spots

Our 2020 1st is probably going to be around #6....no need to sacrifice that for cap relief when we don't need it and are not in a position to compete this coming year. He wants the NJD 1st, not the ARI 1st.
