Description

Whether through CBO, Trade, or Retirement, the Rangers are rid of Staal, Smith and Hank's contract, as well as the worst year of Shattenkirk's buyout hit.

Assuming they practice the "patience" that GM and Pres have been preaching, 2020-2021 will not be a playoff year, so they will sell high on some of their expendable pieces to gear up for their real upcoming window.

I think mgmt likes Strome a lot, and don't plan on giving him up.

I also simply don't see Trouba going anywhere.

I'm sure some tweaking needs to be done in order to avoid losing someone too valuable to Seattle, but I didn't get that deep.

I think there is just enough money left over to resign all of Zib, Kakko, Kravtsov, and Fox, with appropriate raises, the following offseason.

Eventually, at least one of Gauthier, Lemieux, Labanc, Strome get moved to make room for Pajuniemi and whoever else may be coming up as a result of 2020 1st rd picks.

Important to note that it's the 2021 1st and not their 2020 1st.

Also, the projection here is that Georgiev's value is considerably high at this point in time, definitely warranting the 1st, considering that a 2nd is going back as well.

Trades look pretty close. Though resigning Strome looks like a pretty terrible idea. And I'd bet you're looking at Tyler Wall or Huska not Bernier. And Robertson at LHD not Lindgren. And most likely their 2020 1st in the lineup.
