    Stepan in his prime had less value than Deangelo and he was worth 7 OA on what many considered to be an overpaying contract. Trouba has closer value to a late top 10 pick.

    There are roughly 25-30 players I’d deal Deangelo straight up for. Most are “elite”.

    Not sure many people (including Ranger fans who are simply used to a “normal” of high level offense, non-existent defense and elite goaltending) can comprehend how impressive playing elite offense and league average defense with a partner who is objectively one of the worst in the league at both ends of the ice.
