You are overvaluing Abramov and undervaluing Mayfield. Islanders wouldnt make that trade, not worth it for them. Mayfield is on an amazing contract for 3 more seasons and in return they get nothing to help them right now except the honor of retaining salary.

I have proposed countless trades involving mayfield and a 4th and Islanders fans have accepted, none of which involved one of our top prospects going back. This would be a massive over-payment for him as leafs would be giving up a top prospect and a good defensive LW/RW for a third pairing RD. No thank you would rather use Abramov in a bigger trade where we get a true top 4 RHD.
