1st off, doubt cap raises by 2.5 million. At most 1.5 seems to be the most possible.

2nd though the Mantha trade has value, just not enough as Poehling and Kulak are minor pieces. Also not sure if Yzerman wants to trade him.

Poehling is a 21 year old prospect center with a very bright futur. He have plenty of Value. Was the best forward in the WHJC 2 years ago and just played is first pro season last year, and just like most of the first year pro rookie there been good but bad stretches.
It just like if i said that Joe Veleno is a minor piece in a trade. He haven’t had a good first pro season so now he is a minor piece.

And Seattle will gave the NHL a big check of over 500 millions dollar that year so there a big possibility that the cap goes up. And if am not mistaken there a new American TV contract that will kick in too so NHL will have a lot of income that years.

Sorry, but expansion franchise fees are not part of the profit sharing equation. That money is split between the owners and none of that money is shared with the players. And the menu the NHl gets from american networks is very small as most money is ticket driven. If playoff games are played with zero fans it will cost the league who Hope's to recoup some money in ads.

Also sorry but Poehling had a bad year this year after his lone 2018/2019 game where Hab fans had him pegged as the next big star.

Veleno had a bad 1st half to his major career but he was improving his game in the 2nd half of the AHL season before play was halted. Also you are compating an 18 year old to a 21 year old.

Also Veleno is 20 year old and Smart boy! He have exactly 375 day difference with Poehling so stop with that bullcrap. If Poehling stats in is first year Pro in the Ahl Are extremely similar to Veleno so don’t start with that. If Poehling is a minor piece Veleno is to that simple as that my friend.

And yes the 650 millions splits up to 30 team but the tickets income, Jersey sale, hockey operations income are all 50/50 thats big money and US TV contract last sign where around 2 billions in 2011 and projected to be around 4,5 to 5 billions on a 10 years deal so that would make something around 450 -500 hundred millions each season.
