Description
Just testing the feasibility of going high AAV / low term with Hall. Keep in mind that Sakic was willing to go to $12.5m x 4 years with Panarin last summer (and $11.6 x 7 years).

Note: Estimate that cap rises to $83m in 2021-22 with new TV deal + Seattle expansion.

The cap likely isn't going up for a couple of years. The effects of the losses of revenue this season will be felt for a few years, even with a new team and new TV deal.

expansion might cause a slight increase but not as big as what it would have been if not for this pandemic.

I heard on a sports show that its believed hall wants to sign long term even if that means not getting full value with the current cap crisis. Which for him I would believe and understand he’s on his 3rd team now.

expansion might cause a slight increase but not as big as what it would have been if not for this pandemic.

The cap was going to go up to like $88m in 2021 if not for the lockdowns, so $83m doesn't seem that far fetched when you factor expansion and TV deal.

Also keep in mind that a rising cap and higher escrow might be a better scenario for the NHLPA than a flat or lowering cap with lower escrow. A flat/lowered cap would be devastating to UFA's, and the NHLPA will try to find a solution that doesn't screw them over this offseason.
