Brodie will get more. Move Dermott and put Sandin in the lineup and you can easily afford him. Also Spezza>>>>>>>Brooks

I'd rather use that Brodie money for Travis Hamonic, honestly. To me, Brodie doesn't seem like much of an upgrade over Tyson Barrie. Also, I cannot see a situation where Jeremy Bracco is back at all, and I think Travis Dermott is as good as gone this offseason.

I'm hoping that Brodie will take a discount because he is a friend of Dubas', and he grew up in Southern Ontario.
I've seen a few people say Sandin would benefit from a full season in the AHL @ 28 minutes/night. Him and Liljegren would be an electric pair, and would develop nicer than in the NHL @ 10-12 minutes/night.
I'm not 100% sold on Brooks either. He did play relatively well for the games he was with the Leafs. Giving him experienced linemates in Clifford and Kapanen would help his development more. I'm assuming Tavares and Matthew's lines eat up 40-45 minutes/night, leaving 15-20 for the bottom 2 lines.

Barrie was going to be a puck moving defenceman. He flourished under Keefe, but Babcock deployed him poorly. Brodie plays a Holl role, being the guy playing back to give Rielly time to thrive in the offensive zone. Hoping Brodie is a decent defenseman, instead being offensively minded.
I would hate to see Dermott go. I think he is finally finding his niche on the Leafs.
I dislike Bracco as well. Would prefer to sign him and let him play in the AHL, or get an asset for him at a later point, rather than just letting him go for nothing

Flames don’t need Johnsson.

Also if the Leafs are to sign a Flames D, Brodie is a way better option than Hamonic
