Description

Still need to find a way to shed another 2.5M in cap but I think this d-core is a big upgrade.
-Holl only performs well when he is paired with Muzzin so trading him for asset(s) and signing DeMelo for an extra 850k is very worth it as DeMelo is the perfect partner for Rielly. Muzzin/Weegar become the shutdown pairing and both have the ability to drive play and chip in offensively. Matt Roy is a smart, all around good player and can compliment Sandins game and help him grow.
-Kapanen, Dermott, and Holl is more than enough value to acquire Weegar and Roy.

Kapanen should be traded for a defenceman. He apparently has more value but Johnsson is both better, has more heart and has a better contract.

Los Angeles isn't going to trade you Matt Roy without getting Kasperi Kapanen in return, so how are you going to acquire a prime defenseman like MacKenzie Weegar with Dermott and Holl?

Speaking of whom, I think both DeMelo and Weegar are going to get more, both in money and in term, particularly DeMelo. When I sign these guys to my teams, I give them $4 million x 4 or 5 years. Remember that California and Toronto are two of the highest tax jurisdictions in North America, so all of us are going to have to pay top dollar for them.

I think that Marner plays with Matthews.

Came here to say this. Roy will cost you Kapanen, as the Kings won't trade him without a top six-forward coming back. Neither of Dermott/Johnsson are attractive options for LA.
