That Jersey deal, although possible needs a rework. Don't see Fitz moving two firsts to move up in the first round for what essentially is a cap dump - even if adding 2 other picks. The deal may have teeth if the Jets get only one of the picks (and I would suggest Vancouvers). This would move the Devils up enough that moving the additional 2nd and 4th may not be needed.

Although that would all but blow up that Monahan deal, Flames reject easily. I love Roslovic, but a Monahan deal, I suspect, would be to upgrade Monahan. Jets need a 2C yes, just barking up the wrong tree

Who's trading a better center for Monahan though?

This isn't a bad offer for Monahan but if Calgary trades him who's his replacement, there really is a shortage of centers in the league, unless they move Lindholm to center permanently or tear it down a bit and do a rebuild I don't see how they can trade Monahan.

Lol. The Flames would have to package Monahan to upgrade him - but your point is valid.

The package is ok I guess, but where the Flames are at, I would say they aren't tearing down.

Well that was my point too but I didn't get all the way into it.. Lol, it'd take Monahan++ to get a center upgrade on Monahan and with the Flames shallow prospect pool it would probably take too much to get that upgrade on Monahan to the point where they're creating holes elsewhere in the lineup, they could probably move a dman but their forward core is already kind of weak imo, maybe Monahan plus some futures pieces gets them a better center then Monahan but idk who that'd be.

They're in a bit of a difficult spot, they're good enough to be a playoff team but not good enough to contend, their prospect pool is fairly weak, don't have a ton of cap space, their goaltending is a big question mark, one of their best players only has a couple years left on his good value deal and their best player will be looking for a raise on his bridge deal shortly, they might not be at a point of tearing it down but I really think they need to make a decision as to which way they're going otherwise they're going to find themselves lost in the hockey wilderness if they're not already there.

The thought that many are talking about is to have Lindholm at C...So Rosy takes his spot at 2RW and they have picks/prospect for the difference. If they want to trade Johnny and Monny, they won't be getting back players that equal them, one on one..
