In response to the two msgs:

- I missed re-signing Saros...good catch...lets say we lost him in the expansion draft.

- It is a nightmare from the perspective of a team that is 9 years out of the playoffs rebuilding. I didn't clarify in part 1 or 2 that this was an exercise for me in identifying how the Sabres could improve their prospect and draft pick pools by moving Reinhart, Miller, Montour and McCabe between now and the 2021 deadline. In each season the Sabres have lots of cap space; so using that to acquire a couple of vet forwards (not top tier, but players who can help) would be possible.

Three years to trade away assets to build a winner.

Hire a GM who drafts so poorly the in two drafts the player taken after his pick are Draisaitl and Sergachev.
He trades for a GK that he knew had substance abuse problems.
He trades away the defense, depth, picks and prospects to build a team that was good enough to draft Dahlin, three years later.

The New GM rebuilds the defense so it ranked 9th best with least 5 on 5 goals against even though the GK was ranked among the league's worse tandems.
The new Gm hires a head coach who is so bad that the team has the NHL second worse PK, and six players have career worse years.

Now we have Adams, a first time GM, who does not a scouting staff to help him draft or trade.
He works for owners who are too cheap and only care about their life style.
Sure make Tim Murray trades and let's see where that gets us, in three years we may get the first over all pick again.

I am sorry for my rant, but most people think Cozens will be a good #2 center, give him Sam and Jeff as wingers to help him grow.
Kahun has done very well in the NHL let's see how he does playing with Jack.
Thompson was the best player in the prospect challenge and ate up the AHL.
Mittelstadt I hope is using the time off to bulk up.
There are good signs that the team may turn it around next year, but Krueger is not one of them.

Two years in a row the team had really good starts then the wheels fell off.
Are the good starts the real team or is it the cars without wheels?
Just my rant, I do not like trading away so many assets as I know where it got us when DATM did it.
