To make a run at Petro and keep Lehner, MAF and Stastny plus more has to go. Stastny is dealt for a pick as a pure cap casualty, as is Holden (although I don't know his value, they can't pay 1.7mil to a 7D or 8D in this case). Tuch is used to trade MAF, they won't be able to have a 4.75mil 3rd liner and sign Petro. In return they get another 3RW that could play in the top 6, but for 2mil cheaper, a prospect that can fill in a depth spot soon, a 2nd, and of course, 8+ mil in cap space from this deal alone, letting them go after Petro. They only have 500k space this year, but next year they still have all 12 forwards signed, as well as 5 of their top 6 D, and both goalies. They might be able to make a minor move or two at the deadline in 2020-21 but their main upgrade is adding the 2nd best D in the league in the summer lol. They get 3.5mil+ off the cap (500k from Tatar's retention and 4mil from Martinez leaving in UFA, then a mil or less for a new spare player as Hague slots into the top 6D) which gives them major deadline flexibility in 2021-22, and all the same major pieces. Given how far they got this playoffs, they should be a contender in 2021, and then 2022 with the cap room they'll have it's game over, they could add a major rental or two at that deadline to an already lethal roster.
