Makar is going to sign next summer which is much better for the team and probably for him, too. And Byram is probably not going to be in an Avs sweater this season. Newhook is definitely not NHL ready. Landy is going to cost a bit more than $6MM. Alec Martinez would be a good pickup on a short deal.

Makar will get more. But you can ditch Granlund and certainly not sign that TERRIBLE Dubnyk contract. Seriously what is that?

I actually think there is a good chance Makar does a bridge to a really good payday down the road. He needs just a bit more leverage, which he could get this year if he has another solid season, but he's still pretty young so he could take a "team friendly" bridge for 2-4 years then asks them to back up the Brinks truck for 8 years.

This is for 2021-2022 so I think Newhook will sign an ELC by then and Byram will definitely be on the roster by then.
