Salary Cap Mode: Basic

1. Try to sign Josh Anderson to an extension. Since he’s a year from UFA, I’d try to go for something like $3.5 million x 5 years. Ouellet & Juulsen get 1 year deals worked out. Mete gets a bridge contract, for 2 or 3 years at probably around the same money as Kulak. Hudon probably goes to arbitration unless he gets traded.

2. Try to sign a 13th forward that can play C. The main options that I would consider are Nick Cousins, Nate Thompson, or Greg McKegg. Also the habs will probably try to sign another forward. It could be Kovalchuk coming back, and Wayne Simmonds has been rumoured. Duclair would also be interesting. It could be anyone that fits under the cap.

3. Try to trade Hudon. Whether they get a conditional late pick or a similar player, he’s probably gone.

4. Trade Lindgren. We don’t have room for him.

5. See if we can trade Weal. He’s done as a hab. Claude Julien doesn’t trust him, and he’s been passed by Alex Belzile and other players on the depth chart. If we can’t trade him, he gets buried in the AHL.

6. Invite Pavel Gogolev & Dmitri Rashevsky to training camp.
