Kerfoot+ for weegar is much closer in value than this trash I mean I know alot of the proposals are garbage but the kerfoot one isn't you guys desperately need wingers that have the ability to put up some points. Dermott would slot one notch below weegar on a depth chart, weegar has only played on the top pair for 65ish games next too a very very stable partner. He has played well but until he can prove it year over year next to different partners and squash the "he's in a sheltered role" conversation then you could make the argument that all that has been offered is trash but the kerfoot Dermott and pick is an overpay.

Honestly Kerfoot for Weegar in a 1 for 1 makes the most sense is necessary send an AHL guy with him. Weegar is a good Dman but his stats got a big boost thanks to Ekblad. Away from Ekblad hes a slightly better version of Holl but is 2 years younger and plays a more aggressive style. Out of the trade Florida gains a defensive center with solid 5 vs 5 defensive stats, good PK stats, and can be on pp2 for them.

Comparing Weegar to Nylander is silly lul

The trade proposed above is not even close to what Toronto fans proposed as Holl and a 2nd or Kerfoot for him is realistic. Nylander a 31 goal scorer on a steal of a deal for a 2nd and a 4th liner yikes. If thats the case lets have Winnipeg move Laine with future considerations

I agree 100%. Added on to that is the fact that he wants a 1 year deal from Florida because they aren't offering enough.

He wanted 3x4 apparently like Demelo, Florida wanted to sign for half the term and money he said no. So hes going to Arbitration

To save themselves the headache moving him seems like the good idea. With Kerfoots money gone Toronto can give him 3mill for 4 years and he will be happy

It’s really not close. Kerfoot is a 3c. Possibly 2c on the panthers but they dont need him and his 3.5 cap hit cause they could give that to weegar. Toronto and Florida aren’t good trade partners. Toronto needs defense so does Florida. If they trade weegar it will be for someone outside the division like Winnipeg.
