Description

With proper cap management, anyone who is no waiver eligible may be sent down between games (especially since Marlies are within TO) which can reduce those players cap space up to 40% (ie. Engvall, Lehtonen, Barabanov and Sandin) (See James Mirtle Athletic "Leafs Depth Chart" for more info regarding this cap rule)

With a log jam now created on D, why not trade out Holl (potential odd man out if Lehtonen works out) for a pick and sign a guy with more presence like Martin who has experience with the Leafs organization and would be welcomed back with open arms.
Reminder* With Cap Spacing rules with promotion/demotion of waiver un-eligible players (Engvall, Sandin, Lehtonen, Barabanov) the Leafs should save up to roughly 1.4M

Kings are alright without Holl, Doughty-Roy-Walker are better options on the right side so no need to lose futures for Holl there.

I think the leafs are going to go with a 22 man roster (one spare forward and one spare defenceman). I can't see them staying under the cap with more then that
