You guys have an abundance of defencemen at this point and Dermott isnt signed so he isn't worth much as he is a 7th dman, it would be worth it to trade what is essentially just a 3rd round pick for a player with some potential still. This would be a good trade.

But that does make it his value because he wont perform higher than a 7th dman on your team just like how on Buffalo Middelstadt is a failing prospect.

What would you rather have a 7th dman or another young forward with potential?

To me the answer is pretty obvious.
