Description

Panthers add Barkov's best friend in Laine, a top 4 RHD to help replace Ekblad, a RW with top 6 upside that is blocked in Winnipeg and former AHL defenseman of the year that seems to have fallen out of favour with the organization.

Jets get a top pair RHD that gets traded before his NMC kicks in. They also get Weeger, who is likely unprotected and taken in the expansion draft, but we will need a spot for Heinola so that is Ok and Tippett as a top 6 RW prospect as we are losing both Laine and Roslovic so we are thin there.

I guess... but Harkins in the top 6? Oof. Is Tippett NHL ready? If not I think we need a replacement top 6 back, or we hang on to Rosy since we’ll have an open spot for him.

Cats aren’t trading Weegar and Ekblad. It’s Weegar or Ekblad with Weegar being the almost certain choice.

Florida declines, Doubt they've any interest in a one dimensional RW in Patrik Laine. And they sure as hell aren't moving both Ekblad and Weegar in the deal.

F group does look a little thin. If this was to happen it would be Matty P moving up or maybe some sort of deal to create cap space and then maybe the jets could add a Haula or even Hoffman (1 year show me deal).
A couple of guys already said this, but FLA isnt gonna deal both Ekblad and Weeger. If a deal for Ekblad was on the table I would happily trade Laine straight up or even add something. or maybe something like this:
Ekblad Weeger and for Laine, Pionk and Roslovic ( i dont know)
