Description
plz don't get salty about the holl trade, tbh I'll take any pick for holl but a realistic team for the Leafs to play with next season. LTIR is possible 8-man taxi squad. This is assuming Dermott takes that offer and run with a 21 man roster. Still 1 million in cap space if maybe bottom 6 forward needed at trade deadline. Leafs can switch up the left side however they want (maybe Mikheyev and Robertson switch, try Robertson with Spezza/Thornton) but right side is pretty solid. I see Spezza splitting games with Jumbo rather than both at the same time. One other thing is Robertson can move up and down the lineup with him playing with simmonds and spezza/thornton or all the way up to the second line

I like the Holl trade from NJ's perspective. It's a low impact move that is an insurance policy for Conner Carrick who even when wasn't injured was underperforming and we have nothing in the pipeline outside of Reilly Walsh at RD.

There's really no reason what so ever to love our best right handed D man just to sign a possibly AHL plug

I understand why u would say that but holl is nearing thirty now and is in his prime if not nearing the end of it whereas dermott is only 23 and can develop into a much better player than holl for the future. That's why I signed dermott to a 1 year deal, if he screws up, we can show him the door.

I don't understand, he is our best RIGHT HANDED defense but there are left handed ones like brodie for sure as well as dermott (some people don't think so) who are better than holl or in Dermott's case will become better than holl. Also Bogosian adds more pieces that we need compared to holl. He was paired with Victor Hedman last year with Tampa during the playoffs and together they were pretty good showing offensive spark with Hedman, some good defense from Bogosian as well as toughness coming from both of them (but mostly bogo)
